Terms and Conditions

This page sets out the Terms and Conditions when ordering products from
 The Flour Cake Kitchen

 Ingredients: 

All of our cakes are freshly baked to order and include dairy products. We do not currently offer Vegan or Gluten free cakes. Please be aware that our cakes are baked in our kitchen that is also used to prepare foods that contain nuts or nut products. 

To ensure our cakes are eaten at their best, we recommend all our cakes are eaten on the event date. We can not guarantee the quality if it is eaten 48 hours after the event. Unlike supermarket cakes we do not use additives or preservatives and therefore the shelf life is not as long. Our cakes should be stored in a cool room in the box provided and once cut should be eaten within 3-5 days depending on the type of cake purchased. 

Prices:
When purchasing products from The Flour Cake Kitchen, you agree  to pay the price quoted. The price does not include VAT. If we become VAT registered we will notify you.

Quantities:
Please refer to our Products Page for minimum order information. We offer individual cupcakes in presentation boxes for Valentine’s Day, gifts for teachers, passing exams and wedding favours. Please contact us for more details.

Design:
All of our cakes are hand made and there may be some variances in all designs and colours that we use. We will do our best to avoid this but can not guarantee a 100% match. Where you have supplied us with a photo as to your requirements, please note that we will not knowingly copy an exact design and therefore some variation will be necessary.
 
Placing an Order and Deposits:
Please place your orders using the 'Message Us' form on our contacts page or by emailing us direct at hello@theflourcakekitchen.co.uk or by telephoning us on 01634 324429 between 9-5.30pm. If you call after this time, please leave a message and we will call you the next working day. All orders, unless previously agreed will require a deposit. For orders totalling less than £50 a 25% non refundable deposit of the order value will be required. For orders over £50 a 50% non refundable deposit of the total order value will be required.  

Please give us as much notice as possible when placing an order. As a guide, for cupcakes 2/3 days notice, for cupcake flower bouquets 3/4 days notice and for custom cakes 7-14 days depending on complexity of design. We may be able to accommodate orders at short notice so please feel free to message us  to check our availability. 

For Wedding cakes and/or wedding cupcakes please contact us to discuss your requirements before placing an order. You will be notified of our Wedding terms and conditions in writing following initial discussions.

Payments:
Payment may be made in cash or by Bank Transfer (BACS). Details will be provided to you by email on receipt of your order. Please note your order will not be deemed as accepted until your deposit payment has cleared our account. Once your deposit has been received we will contact you again to confirm your order.

Final balance payments must have cleared our account before collection. Due dates will be confirmed to you in our confirmation email. Cash payment before collection is possible. We reserve the right to cancel your order if payment is not made by the agreed date.

Amendments and Cancellations:
Please notify us of any changes or cancellations as soon as possible. Amendments, depending if any additional charge is due, may be subject to a further deposit. Any deposit refunds are at the discretion of The Flour Cake Kitchen and will depend on whether ingredients or supplies have already been sourced and/or if the cake is already in the process of being made. The Flour Cake Kitchen reserve the right to charge any final balance where cancellation is within 2 days of the agreed collection date. Should it be necessary for you to change the collection date, whilst we will do our best to accommodate the change, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to fulfill your order on the new date agreed. If this is not possible, we reserve the right to keep your deposit.

We retain the right to cancel your order in exceptional circumstances such as ill health, fire or flood. In such instances any monies already paid by you will be refunded in full, however we will not be held responsible for the cost of you sourcing and obtaining a replacement cake(s).

Non edibles:
Our cakes and cupcakes will occasionally include non-edible items on or in the cake. We will let you know which pieces cannot be eaten. It is your responsibility to ensure they are removed before serving.

Collection:
Collection from either our premises on St Marys Island or near Chatham Town Centre must be at a pre agreed time. If you do not notify us of any delays, failure to collect your order at the agreed time, will result in cancellation of your order and no refunds will be made. Once an order has been inspected by you and has left our premises no liability or responsibility will be taken by The Flour Cake Kitchen for any damage caused to your cakes.

Some of our cakes are fragile. You are responsible for the transportation of your cakes when you leave our premises. We would suggest laying the cakes on a non slip mat in the clean boot of your car. We do not recommend laying cakes on car seat as these often slope and the carrying of custom cakes whilst sitting in the passenger seats should be avoided as you may be unable to keep the cake level.

Cupcake Club:
If you are a member of our cupcake club, in addition to the above terms, the  following  terms and conditions apply:
Please contact us to place your order, following which we will contact you to confirm your order has been received and to provide you with our Bank details to enable you to set up a regular bank transfer. 
  • No deposits are required 
  • Payments must be received in full to our account by the 5th of each month.
  • Amendments to orders or cancellations must be received by the 15th of each month. 
  • Your cupcakes may either be collected from St Marys Island, Chatham on the last Friday of each month between 8am and 9.00am or depending on your location free delivery is possible between 9am and 11am on the last Friday of each month. This will be confirmed with you on placing an order.
  •  If delivery is made by us, you must ensure someone is available to take delivery of your cupcakes. We accept no liability or responsibility once the cupcakes have been delivered. If no one is available and we can not contact you, we will deem the delivery as failed and no refund will be offered. 
  • Refunds will only be made where cancellations are made prior to the 15th of each month.
  •  The minimum order is one box of six cupcakes. All orders are based on increments of 6 cupcakes (box of 6/12/18/24 etc)
  •  As part of the cupcake club you are agreeing to a different variety of cupcake being delivered each month. No refunds will be offered in the event that the cupcakes are not to anyone's liking. Please see our Product page for an indication of what is available.

Media
We reserve the right to use all photographs of any cake, cupcakes or product we produce for advertising purposes.
